Early immigrant families helped shape the village into what was once known as “Little Chicago” because of its vibrant neighborhoods and strong ethnic heritage. Westville is nationally recognized as the home of the first regular-season high school night football game played under permanent lights in the United States, held on September 28, 1928. Today, Westville continues to celebrate its history through community traditions, local events, and hometown pride that spans generations.
