Solicitor Permits Solicitor Permits

The Village requires all door-to-door solicitors, canvassers, and peddlers conducting business within Village limits to obtain a valid Solicitor Permit prior to engaging in any activity. This permitting process helps protect residents and ensures that individuals soliciting in the community have met local requirements.
A current list of approved permit holders is provided below for residents’ reference. Only individuals listed and in possession of a valid permit are authorized to solicit within the Village. If you have a solicitor who does not have a permit, please call City Hall at (217) 267-2507 or the Non-Emergency Dispatch at (217) 442-0155.

All permitted solicitors are required to wear an official Village-issued lanyard and permit badge at all times while soliciting. Below is a sample of the permit badges & lanyards. The lanyard must be worn visibly and presented upon request. Residents are encouraged to verify a solicitor’s permit and lanyard before engaging and to report any concerns or unpermitted activity to Village Hall or the Police Department.
