How to Start a Gas and/or Water Service
To start new gas and/or water service, please visit our office in person. Our Clerks will be happy to assist you with the setup process.
Here’s what you’ll need to bring:
Completed Application – Applications are available in the office or online here.
Valid Photo ID – Such as a driver’s license or state-issued identification card.
Proof of Property Ownership – A document showing you own the property (for example, a deed or property tax statement).
Security Deposit –
Gas service deposit: $150.00
Water service deposit: $100.00
Once all documentation and payment are received, we’ll schedule your service connection as soon as possible.
How to Stop Gas and/or Water Service
If you’re moving or need to close your gas account, we make it easy to stop your service.
You can request a service disconnection by:
Calling our office
Visiting us in person
Emailing us at gasandwater@villageofwestville.net
When requesting to stop service, please provide:
Your forwarding address – This is where your final bill will be sent.
Buyer or New Owner Information – If the property has been sold, please share the new owner’s name and contact details.
Note: We can only finalize the new service connection once the new owner comes in to set up their own account.
Once we receive your request and forwarding information, we’ll process your final bill and confirm the disconnection date.
